Bihar Board 12th English Chapter 4 Summary 2022 I Have A Dream

Martin Luther King Jr. was born in 1929. He was highly influenced by Gandhiji so supported and followed Non-violence. In the age of only 35 he was awarded with Nobel Prize for his efforts to end segregation and racial discrimination.

‘I have a Dream’ is a speech delivered by Martin Luther King Jr on the steps of Lincoln memorial in Washington on August 28, 1963. In this speech, he speaks about bringing freedom in the life of Negros. Negroes were treated as slaves all across America and were hated in American society. They lived in slums and are deprived of their right to cast vote. They were cruelly treated by police and common citizens of America as well. In his speech he requested audience to maintain peace and conduct their movement with dignity.

By following non-violence we can get the desired result what we can’t expect from violence. He said that Negroes’ Power should not be underestimated that would we harmful and dangerous for the nation. In his speech emphasized that the country where racial distinction is practiced will never develop. He wants there to be fraternity among all the citizens. He wants those who are facing the evils and injustice should get the justice and freedom. He wants their children to be recognized for their qualities and abilities rather than race. This speech brought big change in the life of Negros’. After a decade we still find that Negros’ are not able to get their piece in mainstream society.

In order to bring uniform development there should be contribution from all sections of citizens. He concludes with the words that the day will come when people will live happily without any sort of discrimination and they will thank the Almighty that day.
